California ADOPT-200 Adoption Request Form
Adoption is a very serious decision to consider before acting. One should not take a rash decision that can tamper the child’s welfare for long term. Fortunately, in California, adopting a stepchild has a very friendly approach, and even the court uses the term “as if the child was born into” to explain the express the new parent-child relationship.
In addition to all this, while you decide to adopt a child, you need to undergo an extensive legal process to become the new parent of the child. Assuming that you have decided to adopt the child, you are now ready to move to the next step of filling appropriate forms that are important according to California’s Adoption Act (UAA).
So, you need to fill the adoption form called Adopt-200, which is a form for formal adoption request. This form gives the judge basic information about you and your would-be child. This form needs to be filled up completely and accurately.
It has the entire set of questions that the judge needs to know before starting your adoption process. There are different sections in the form for people who are adopting more than one child, if it’s an agency adoption, independent adoption or adoption through a domestic partner.
